Palestinian prisoners in all Israeli occupation jails have decided to go on a single day solidarity hunger strike on Thursday en masse.
Prisoner Abu Mukatel told the PIC over the phone on Wednesday that the prisoners decided to practically express their solidarity with the administrative detainees who have been on hunger strike for 13 days.
He added that the prisoners warned the director of the Israeli prison service of an “inevitable explosion” in the prisons in the event any harm was done to any of the hunger striking administrative detainees.
The prisoners warned of expanding the strike and protests inside the prisons if the Israeli judicial system and the Shabak did not respond favorably to the prisoners’ just demands.
Along the same line, a huge rally was held in Bethlehem in solidarity with the Palestinian administrative detainees.
According to a PIC correspondent, the rally was organized by a popular mass movement of ex-detainees and was attended by several prisoners’ families and prominent national figures and MPs.
In a speech delivered by member of the Palestinian Legislative Council Khaled Tafesh, the latter drew attention to the need to react with the administrative hunger-strikers: “Israeli Occupation must halt its illegitimate administrative detention policies targeting our prisoners.”
Other speeches by PA representatives and spokespersons for different Palestinian factions declared prisoners’ issue Palestinians’ “main concern.”
13 administrative prisoners from Bethlehem joined the administrative hunger-strike initiated by late May under the slogan “Dignity’s Revolution and Freedom’s will.”
Meanwhile, Palestinian prisoner Mohamed Taous from al-Khalil, imprisoned for 29 years in Israeli jails, said there is no way long-held Palestinian detainees can exchange release promises for a single inch of Palestine’s sacred soil.
